November is here and there are 6 weeks until the Christmas program on December 19 at 7:00 pm in our Simi Valley Adventist Church Sanctuary. The students will once again be performing the Christmas Messiah for Young Voice by Handel. We are also scheduled to appear at the Simi Valley Festival of Trees in December , the Mormon Church’s Simi Valley Community Christmas December 8 at 5:00 pm, and at our Simi Valley Adventist Church on December 14 at 11:00 am. A busy calendar indeed! These performances are key in reaching out to the local community to show them how impressive are our students and program. We will be going over the details of the December calendar at out next parent meeting November 21 here at school at 7:00 pm. Not One More will be making their presentation. This is HIGHLY important for every parent. We go to great lengths to make our calendar each year in June so that you have a complete list of events, dates, and times. I am expecting a great turnout for this parent meeting. Each meeting is another means to bring our school family together, share vital information, and continue the year long effort of making each school year a beautiful pathway for our children.
Without your full support to these events we can not become the school of which we dream and plan.
A quick word about our after-school supervision program. I believe that our No-Cost after-school program is essential to our families as you sacrifice in making your payments for tuition and we so deeply understand that the financial commitment is difficult in these times. While we enjoy having our students having a safe and reliable place to stay while you finish work or get chores done, we also want to remind all our parents that this program is essentially for those parents who need it. We are asking that you try to limit your child to staying after school for socialization to Fridays when there is skating and we love having them stay for this fun activity. On page two, you will find a new schedule for our Skate Fridays till the end of the calendar year. We find that the students overflow on those days and Mrs. Romero is are only paid supervisor. If you can come on those Fridays and help volunteer in the gym it would mean so much to our dear Mrs. Romero. It can be a bit overwhelming when you have to take re- sponsibility for 30+ students in the midst of roller mania! I love what this school is and I am excited about what it will be in our immediate future! Help us grow.
